Network/Security Operations Center (NOC/SOC) Technician Level 1

SkyHelm is seeking Applicants for a NOC/SOC Technician to fill New Growth Positions in Our Oklahoma City Network/Security Operations Center. 

Cybersecurity Company servicing customers across various Industry sectors, seeking qualified applicants w/1-3 years experience for Level 1 NOC/SOC Technician and Monitoring Engineer to expand 24/7 Network Operations and Security Operations Centers, located in Oklahoma City, OK facility.

Seeking individuals who have a willingness to jump in and execute on any problem thrown at you and enjoy shift-style work.


NOC/SOC operates to provide 24/7/365 monitoring and resolution for critical infrastructure clients.

MUST be willing to occasionally be on-call evenings, overnight, and weekends.

MUST be hard working problem solvers that can use Best in Class tools to keep clients networks online and secure.

This is a full-time, Salaried, non-exempt, ON-SITE, In Office, NON-Remote Work position;

Location: Oklahoma City, OK area ONLY

On-Site, In Office ONLY; NO Remote or Distance Workers

1-3 Yrs Experience in NOC/SOC, Help Desk, or Cybersecurity preferred;

Prior experience in Inbound Customer Service or Support Call Center a plus.


Must have proficiency in Written & Verbal, Telephone etiquette, & electronic communications

Qualified Applicants will have:

Basic knowledge in networking or cybersecurity

Basic understanding of server technologies, routing, & firewalls

Experience in issue resolution for break fix, troubleshooting and methodology for problem solving

Knowledge of common telecommunications concepts in network and telephony

Strong Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas in written and oral form

Strong Ability to address multiple projects or tasks effectively which may be unrelated

Prior work experience in a help desk or call center environment is a plus

Manufacturer Specific experience with Firewalls & Switching is a plus

Cyber Security Job Responsibilities:

Cyber Security Qualifications / Skills:

System administration

Preferred Education, Experience, and Certifications (but not required):

Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Certificate Program from Vocational/Technical school

Basic understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.

Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations

Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions

Familiarity with the DOD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program.

Proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, ID/PS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics, and RSA Security

Basic knowledge of Architecture, Engineering, and Operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g. Nitro/McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, ArcSight, QRadar, LogLogic, Splunk) is desirable

Experience developing and deploying signatures (e.g. YARA, Snort, Suricata, HIPS)

Understanding of mobile technology and OS (i.e. Android, iOS, Windows), VMware technology, and Unix and basic Unix commands

Familiarization with, and/or the willingness to pursue Advanced certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP or CASP and/or SIEM-specific training and certification

Willingness & aptitude to pursue DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
